girl, interrupted
as the distant sun prematurely began to sink in the gloomy sky, there was still hope to continue my scheduled 35 minute run from yesterday. the rain seemed to thin out while the dark clouds and dense fog remained. aj and i discussed our plan of action over the culinary masterpiece that is the california chicken salad from o'charley's and decided that after finishing some errands we were going to go home and run. we got to our apartment a little after 8 pm and it was hardly sprinkling out. apparently molly mcweather knew what she was talking about.
we rushed inside to inspect our previously soaked running shoes fearing the worst. aj's shoes were as dry as the sahara, while mine seemed to make no progress what so ever! as i pondered how a man's size 13 shoe could dry quicker than a woman's size 5.5, i encouraged aj to finish his run. he could clearly see that i was disappointed about my soggy situation, but reinforced the fact that i had accomplished something amazing during the first hurricane to hit ohio. i had run for 10 minutes solid. underwater. so with that, i gladly took the compliment while my shins gladly took the break.
fast-forward to today, and a few things have changed. (the weather not being one of them.) my shoes are now dry and i am curious to see if my sensor survived the flood. i am assuming there should be no problems seeing as how nike had to of clearly foreseen such events occurring, thus taking preventative measures to ensure i, the consumer, would not be let down. aside from the techy stuff, my body is doing great. the small pains i was beginning to have in the fronts of my shins have faded and now, on the day i am scheduled to just hit the gym, i am contemplating a run. maybe i'll just compromise and run one mile (without walking) on top working out. i have a 35 minute run scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6 am and i don't want to throw my running schedule off too much by feeling the need to run extra. i mean, the marathon is still eight months.
plenty of time, right?

wow, an actual marathon. Good luck. I suggest working out hard. Time is fine, but I ran 9 miles once and it took over an hour. I suggest speed training and then endurance. But I might be full of shit. I know you guys can do it. Just keep going.
And if you want to run with Maria and I sometime, let us know. We ran for the first time in abotu a month the other day. It was brutal.
Awesome run!!! Someone once told me to treat every accomplishment as if it were an Olympic victory....so congrats on yours!!!!!!
thanks guys.. it means a lot!
